Hello lovely bookreaders,
I hope you're doing well on this Tuesday afternoon.
Here in Dublin, we have now the 4 seasons in one single day, which means it is that time of the year where you don't know how to dress yourself.
But without further notice, let's jump into this review.

There are no more cheerleaders in the town of Sunnybrook.
First there was the car accident—two girls gone after hitting a tree on a rainy night. Not long after, the murders happened. Those two girls were killed by the man next door. The police shot him, so no one will ever know why he did it. Monica’s sister was the last cheerleader to die. After her suicide, Sunnybrook High disbanded the cheer squad. No one wanted to be reminded of the girls they lost.
That was five years ago. Now the faculty and students at Sunnybrook High want to remember the lost cheerleaders. But for Monica, it’s not that easy. She just wants to forget. Only, Monica’s world is starting to unravel. There are the letters in her stepdad’s desk, an unearthed, years-old cell phone, a strange new friend at school. . . . Whatever happened five years ago isn’t over. Some people in town know more than they’re saying. And somehow Monica is at the center of it all.
There are no more cheerleaders in Sunnybrook, but that doesn’t mean anyone else is safe.
A 5 stars review for me.
It matched all criteria:
I cried towards the end
it was suspenseful
it had nice characters
you could get attached to them
the world building was amazing
really nice writing style
Let's start with "I cried towards the end", at the end we get the revelation behind Jeniffer's death and her actually committing suicide and giving a note that was only at the end shared with her sister Monica. Additionally, the boyfriend could finally let her go and he tells Monica that which made my heart cry.
"It was suspenseful" so at first everyone thinks the same the death of those 5 girls are all intertwined and Carly has some influence in it. Well, let me tell you it is a NO. 2 of the deaths could have been avoided, and therefore another suicide could have also been avoided (Jen's suicide). The two other one, no. Those were actually unavoidable with one person having the answer to that murder and Monica fighting to get the answer to the first murders.
"It had nice characters" I was actually attached to those characters and could feel Jen's pain.
World building was pretty nice as well as the story building, I kind of guessed towards the end who the murderer was and was screaming at my book "DON'T OPEN THE DOOR" even my boyfriend got surprised.
An amazing writing style.
I hope you enjoyed this review!
Love,
Manon
