A mamy banter and TikTok sensation book with a Christmas theme and a Sunday Times bestseller, what can we ask more?
It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Like every mum, Tara wants a perfect Christmas for her family - but no one esle is lifting a finger and she's losing her elf-in mind.
From a vaping teen, explosive potty training and disastrous Nativity, to a distracte husband acting very out of character, the final straw is Tara's glamorous, feckless mother moving herself back in for the holidays.
Can Tara pull off the holly jolly Christmas of her dreams? Will she deck the halls and not her family? Or is this a Christmas catastrophe waiting to happen...
This was a first for me, reading a Christmas themed book. Just so you have the picture I love Christmas more than anything. It is my favourite time of the year, and this year I have some trouble putting myself into it.
Normally I would have already started to watch loads of Christmas movies everyday and be in cheery mode, but nothing.
Maybe it is because I just left a toxic job, where I was doing loads and noone was actually helping or supporting me in carrying all on my shoulders, and to be honest I think I was in burn-out.
I changed jobs earlier this month, but was in an intesive training for the past two weeks, and then on top of that I am having regular panic attacks which basically are quite bad.
So last month I decided to treat myself to Christmas books (2 in paperback and the rest through Kindle) and to be honest it has cheered me up a bit. We are not quite there yet, but it is a step towards it.
This book was such a fun read. It really was a good book and helped me get a glimpse of the "mommy" life and what awaits me in a couple of years (emotionally crying).
But is was a good book and really deserves the 4 stars review.
Tara honestly is the best Christmas spirited mom. She is always in a Christmas mood for her whole family, and she had a tough time being in the Christmas mood this year, but once she has talked with her mother, her daughter and she is feeling the magic it all becomes way better.
This book was also a really good laugh for me, like honestly there were some part were I could imagine things like that happening to everyone in real life and that made me so happy and laugh.
Like the poo accident, or stumbling upon her husband joining a Dragons and Dungeons club to play and thinking he was cheating on her, honestly those were priceless moments.
I am definitely recommending this book to anyone!
